joining us now for more on the investigation into the death of alton sterling is colonel mike edmondsonolice. thank you for joining us. i want to get an update, is the louisiana state police force on a heightened state of alert now in the aftermath of what happened in dallas? >> certainly from a perspective of a law enforcement officer we're telling our first responders to be aware of their surroundings, remember their training and just be extra alert when you're tending to duty out here. safety is something that's paramount to me. >> has there been credible threats? >> there has not. i mean, we certainly dialled in from an national perspective, as well as a local and state perspective. so i was speaking to the authorities there in dallas while they was happening the other night. we're aware of what's going on, but right now there is no known actual threat to a law enforcement officer to an entity here in the state of louisiana, certainly not here in baton rouge. >> is it fair to say that out of an abundance of caution your police officers are taking extra security measures? >> certainl

superintendent edmondson has told us that they're interviewing everyone who might have come in contact was just in passing. he says the shooter stayed in several locations over the course of several days while he was in this area. they are starting to try to put together some of those pieces, how many days was he here, who he interacted with and where did he stay. several locations is what we are told. a new video cnn has pulled from the shooter's twitter feed of him in a car riding around with another man narrating this video the entire time, he's talking to the young man who identifies himself only as a local rapper. the video lasts about ten minutes. in the video the shooter appears to be narrating the entire time and lecturing to the young man about basically giving him life advice, telling him to develop multiple sets of skills for his professional life, telling him essentially if he develops professional relationships, not to trust people of other races. that's some new information from this video that we've pulled from the shooter's twitter feed. so we're putting together some p

we heard earlier in the press conference from colonel mike edmondson that man responsible for these killings is dead. helicopters were hovering overhead, presumably some police officers. others affiliates. still a very active scene when we arrived. a lot of anxiety here in this area right now, wolf. >> does it still seem to be a very active scene right now? >> reporter: within the last ten minutes, that anxiety subsided. we saw the officers that were pointing their weapons across the street put their weapons down. the officers that went to check out the scene 200 yards away from me, behind my back here, it seems to have died down for a moment. we see a lot of police presence, a lot of unmarked police cars. some other baton rouge police departments. east baton rouge parish sheriff's police officers. there were initial reports that there was suspected to be more than one person involved. police officers want to make sure public safety is a priority here and ensure everything is clear. for right now, we can't reiterate enough how tenses in this environment hours after three police officers who
