rich edson joins me on set. rich, this apparently could cost students nearly $2 billion in aid?a math error from the department of education. means applicants would miss out on $1.8 billion on federal student aid. fafsa, a form that college students fill out for government grants. national association says because the department is making the updates so late in the processing cycle, students will pay the price in the form of additional delays in financial aid offers and compressed decision-making timelines, on top of other delays. congress required the department of education to make the form easier to fill out this year. that update is behind schedule. republicans on the house education committee have asked the government accountability office for an investigation writing repeated delays from the department of education in rolling out the new fafsa have left students and schools in limbo for the upcoming school year. education was three months late launching the new application. the education secretary says congress should have given the department more money. >> that program h

rich edson has more. >> the pentagon says the iranian navy seized this oil tanker sailing to turkey whended it sending it to iran. >> this activity is contrary to international law. it's another example of iranian maligned activity threatening security and instability in the region. we call on iran to release the tanker and the crew immediately. >> the pentagon says the tanker's flagged to the marshall islands. iranian state media says this is the same tanker carrying iranian oil. last year when the u.s. seized it. i ran says this is retaliation for that. the defense department says the iran backed houthis fired an anti ship missile this morning. a ballistic missile in to a busy international shipping lane. there's no reports of injuries or damage to ships. the pentagon also says that there's been 130 attacks by iran-backed malitias against u.s. forces in iraq and syria since october 17 including 16 attacks since the evening of january 1. that's when defense secretary lloyd austin was hospitalized. austin is still in the hospital. the pentagon says austin is in good condition. he went in
