edward klein joining us from new york. welcome. >> guest: thank you for having me. >> host: why did you turn your attention to these two families? >> guest: well, the media has spent a great deal of time writing and talking about the feud that exists in the republican party between the tea party and the establishment wings of that party. but has spent virtually no time at all on the feud that is going on between the two great democratic families, the obamas and the clintons. and that feud is going to affect who gets the democratic nomination and maybe even who is in the white house in 2016. i thought it was an important story that deserves a book. >> host: so, mr. klein, what is the feud over, as you see it? >> guest: well, the feud is over many different things. first of all, it's a personal feud between the clintons and the obamas over the kinds of words that they hurled at each other during the 2008 presidential primaries in which the obamas called the -- called bill clinton a racist and bill clinton called -- and hilla

it's great that she is being this kind of forwardly thinking person but i do not think that edward kleins on the money here when it comes to her running for president. >> she's been less than on the money a number of times. how could we ever doubt a claim from someone who reported that hillary clinton is secretly a lesbian. that chelsea clinton was conceived through rape. he's responsible for a number of colorful stories along those lines. do you think the joke is on us in the media for airing these ideas and i appreciate the irony of us doing a segment debunking the piece and therefore giving publicity to those stories. it's a story we debated that. you have to come out and say meg it's worth regarding these with a dose of skepticism. >> blood feud sounds like a steven seagal movie and reads even worse. whether we should be spending time on it, i should tell you this. i think we've seen this before. when you let outright lies just kind of lie there and thinking that -- and ask john kerry about this in 2004. that you think that no one is going to believe any of these. then they start gai
