mayor ed lee thank you for being here (clapping) chief suhr, chief joanne haynes-white (clapping) edward reiskinof mta and mohammed head of dpw and rebecca kate's rebate can animal care and control (clapping) so san francisco prepares for and cooperated and plans for disastrous everyday we're good at it we do it to practice our life saving skills so we know how to communities with one other but most of all to protect our public and residents of san francisco and to protect our first responders. today is also the one hundred and 8 anniversary of the 1906 san francisco earthquake. we went to lotta's fountain this morning to remember those people who came before us who were brave and worship reliant that made san francisco come alive but it made us remember the great fire over after the earthquake and the biggest it threat today is the fire that's going to happen afterward so in 1906 we're better prepared today with better plans and we are prepared with better infrastructure. we a that's why with the mission bay fire last year because of the all of the the work we did with the infrastructure and pl

that includes the parents representatives so we're trying to go to them we meet quarterly and edward reiskin regularly with them. i think we're ready for a role call vote >> i want to thank kevin i want to that meeting with the principles and i wanted to thank them the enthusiasm of the probably causing was tremendous and off the top of my head referred to when people come to schools to invest the principles will tell you that's one of the main questions do you have childcare which parents hear as no our goal is saying when you going to a private school do you have childcare and we want to say yes. the principles were enormously supportive. we want to say i wanted to thank any colleagues for their express support and i want to say we've had other in the community that have raised this if this develops over 7, 8, 9 a lot of off sight after-school programs maybe in order - they maybe wanting to be the lead agency to run our after-school programs but more students will want to stay on the site so we'll hope their anticipate they'll view it as perfectly understoodable they may need to migrate bu

(clapping) >> so thank you all for coming out this morning, i'm edward reiskin i'm the director of transportation here in san francisco. happy to see you all here we're going to need everybody's help here today. where i will start we're lucky san francisco is a great city and one of the most walkable city if not in the world it attracts people here. it's a great city to walk around and be in. however, we we have a problem and the problem is people are getting killed in our streets and that shouldn't be happening pr it's unacceptable people are getting killed my seriously injured it's traefblg not only for the families especially for the families to whom it happens but for our whole city but the good news is it's preventable every one of those dedicates and serious injuries is preventable. the good news behind that is that we have great leadership in the city as manifested by the strong and power showing of folks behind me that are focused and committed and dedicated to preventing those serious collisions and fatality collisions so we get the benefits of our beautiful walkable city without worryin
