edwidge danticat, welcome back to democracy now! from one hurricane target in florida to another, haiti, can you talk about what has happened in your home country in haiti? >> good morning. thank you so much for having me once again. what i understand and what the world is starting to the is that parts of haiti has been decimated. the images that were just show thatat inerdrday some towns, for example, something like 90% of the houses are either flattened or have lost their roofs. there was an enormous sea surge. the sea came inin pretty far inland. that means a lot of agitation has been lost, a lot of farming -- it was close to harvest time, so that harvest is gone. livestock for which people, especially people in rural areas, livestock is basic. so much of that is washed away. .xtreme devastation we started getting very low numbers in terms of the death toll because there was no access to these areas. and there are areas where there is still no access. it is a very dire, grave situation. equal for some of the towns affected to the

danticat edwidge danticat dan dan hausle, 7news "today in >> kris: boston police are searching for someone accused of sexually assaulting a woman on mission hill. this man, take a look at your screen, came up behind her early saturday morning, threw her to the ground and tried the assault her before running away. anyone with more information on who this man might be is asked to call police. >> christa: officers in rochester, new hampshire, searching for a suspect after a dramatic high-speed chase. investigators say an officer pulled over a truck friday night and then the driver took off. the driver eventually lost control, hit two cars in the parking lot an then ran away. o are still looking for him this morning. and police are also searching for two suspects involved in an assault in medford, a tufts university student says that he was walking with friends when a car pulled over. the city or town says he was punched in the face by two passengers. then threatened with a baseball bat. students say they're concerned by that attack, as well. >> honestly, i just heard some sort of assault happ
