ehrlich. >> to a story you saw first right here on channel 9, d.c. councilman harry thomas jr. will resign from office amid allegations of some serious ethics violations. thomas could wind up in prison. delia gonsalves is live outside the wilson building with the story this morning. >> good morning, mike. there are rumors and speculation for several months that still comes as a pretty big shocker. harry thomas jr.'s days here at the wilson building are coming to an end. he's expected to resign in the coming days. we're told that thomas will plead guilty to one felony count that carries a 2 to 3 year jail sentence. he's accused of using $300,000 meant for youth program he ran to pay for his own lavish vacation and a luxury suv. the fbi and i.r.s. raided his northeast home last month where his attorney told me that he was fighting the charges. but apparently they may not and they cannot fight these charges and will strike a plea deal with federal prosecutors in the coming days. we'll continue to follow this story, have reaction from council member thomas jr.'s colleagues here at
