live it the einstein medical center, cleve bryan, "eyewitness news". >> cleve, thank youment following more breaking news right now. no one was injured after police fired shots at a dog, charging toward them. this happened on the 3400 block of north sixth street around 2:30 this morning. police shot at the dog but it is not clear if the dog was struck. >>> and philadelphia police have now charged two people with the vicious attack on a park ranger caught on camera. but they are still looking for at least one more person. nineteen year old curtis tanner and 17 year old are now charged with aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, and recklessly endangering another person. this vicious beating here was caught on camera friday afternoon in center city's love park. police say the attack happened after the ranger approached several skateboarders telling them they could not skate there in the park. steve keeley is live at einstein hospital this morning, steve. >> reporter: all right. lets go to some new video, first of all, let's show you the scene here at quarter to 1:00 and no officer wants to start the the shift on the streets and end it in an emergency room but four year veteran steve korpalski life didn't end as he and his partner showed up at torresdale and mcgee answering a 911 call about a guy with the gun. two other officers came within backup and within seconds the the guy with the gun was shooting the gun at them, grazing korpalski on the left side of his head and police van they got out of took a bullet right where they sit right above to the left of the painted police word on the side of the van. the gun fired at police on the sidewalk right in front of the corner brooks pharmacy which also has bullet holes in it. >> at 12:4 four tonight, officer korpalski and his partner responded to a man with the gun at 6401 ditman street. they saw the male at mcgee and torresdale. they went to stop the male. immediately the male fired upon them striking officer ko

reporter: the 78-year-old mother was questioned and released this morning and meanwhile her son is at einstein being treated right now as this investigation continues. this happened just after 9:00 last night. investigators say the mother fired at least one shot hitting her son in the abdomen. a few hours ago he went into surgery, and police tell us he is stable and police are still trying to put all the pieces together, but they know the two live in that house together and there may have been an argument just before the gunfire. investigators found the woman's gun in a bedroom drawer, but they also believe her son had a gun as well. >> we are going to determine after an investigation if the shooting was justified and in self defense. but right now it's an investigation on going. >> detectives have obtained a search warrant to get in there and retrieve the mother's gun and son's gun if they can find it and detectives are talking with neighbors who heard that gunfire last night. >>> philadelphia police are still trying to find the person that shot and killed a man in a driveway yesterday. inves
