el charo, the segment we're looking at. that is a good build of traffic. look at the maps, we'll show you the breakdown for the speeds. the orange you see about 45 to 50 miles per hour developing approaching the dublin interchange. that's past our camera. we see slowing into livermore out of the altamont pass. it's a typical build for a friday. no problem for 680 south or north down to pleasanton, and 580 through the castro valley area. the bottom of the screen, the rest of the south bay, it's north 101 that starts to show the burst that does kick in north of 680 to 880. even that segment with speeds toward 55 has your average around 57 for the entire stretch from 880, no problems for 87 or 280. here are speeds for the peninsula. any one north of san mateo an easy drive. now 101 northbound at kand le stick, if you use that there may be a big rig facing you. they took the wrong way and so they are on the shoulder now. the bay bridge, no one going the wrong way. that's good. they are moving smoothly. back to you. >> it's 5:56. looking for closure, the family

you have slowing approaching el charo.ou see the breakdown on the maps, this is what you're talking about. jamming in through livermore. letting up, this is where you see more folks hitting. cutting through pleasanton and livermore as an alternate. they join up with 680 and that leaves a little for the folks traveling southbound, 680 through pleasanton as they get used to the flashing lights and the lanes move more smoothly we'll see more traffic build-up. a smoother drive through the south bay. we have your northbound route 101 and for 85 now kicking in as far as the slow spot. 87 around curtner and 280 around 17 and 880. that's a typical pattern for the south bay. we'll see that shift sort itself out because of that hour we lose in the time change going on. we're looking at the upper peninsula, a smooth drive in the green north of san mateo into and out of san francisco. a live look in the area as well. this is palo alto, northbound shows a smooth flow heading up to willow avenue. it's the southbound side here through pa

as you approach el charo and the auto mall there is the crawl.there was an earlier crash west of the interchange at san ramon road. furniture across lanes, half of the freeway blocked maybe an hour. that's what set off all of this. slew for a friday westbound 580 out of livermore where it slows down over toward castro valley. all of those folks are making a burst toward y., plan on slowing as well. they are all looking predictable as far as a friday. but in the south bay, i circled the area where laura reported the fire. willow glen that's not far from willow glen. and line 82 may have to reroute because the crews are blocking at curtis. 101 has recovered. that was unusual for san jose. that has cleared. we'll jump up to the bay bridge. let me give you a look. the sensors aren't such a big deal. the fast track lanes are moving. friday we don't see this until maybe 45 minutes. this is early. still a big change. we don't -- metering lights just turned on so there you go. we'll show you the slow drive. nothing unusual through berkeley or emeryville.

toward 580 westbound, that's the commute direction with the headlights, and it's a smooth drive past el charo. it looks like a lot of light but this is what we see almost every monday about this time so we have a smooth flow where the arrow is. whoops. no dra pla around the area. we showed you with the camera, so you see green throughout the livermore approach to to the dublin interchange. the yellow down to 60 miles per hour. not a major concern. no incidents eastbound through castro valley or the dublin grade. the road crews not there from sunday to monday night. that's a good flow of traffic throughout the south bay. we'll give you a look for the upper peninsula and easy drive into and out of san francisco through san mateo, the 280 drive up into san francisco itself. palo alto, lower peninsula here, a live look at the cameras, traffic moves nicely. watch this stretch for 101 into palo alto out of menlo park and 280 around the pend to los altos, gets the morning sun. now it's going to be about 7:30 to 8:00 with the time shift. we're watching for this. san rafael, the north bay no problems

you're getting close to the speed limit, here we'll get a live look at el charo, westbound through the two areas. a nice easy drive but good spacing so that keeps you close to the limit. out to the maps talking about highway 4 westbound. you come off theant wok bridge we're seeing a slowdown. look toward love ridge. pittsburgh and bay point you're moving but watch reports of debris in the lane. we have an issue not on the freeway but surface streets, we told you overnight willow pass at sixth, between fifth and sixth someone was hit and killed. they are continuing the investigation. closing willow pass road between fifth and sixth into the morning commute. could be clear as early as 6:00 but may continue if they need sunlight for pictures. we'll continue following that. it's a couple of blocks but watch that. 242, highway 4 over to 680 are just fine. the rest of your bay moving as you head to the bay bridge no. problems. you have an easy drive after an early morning wind advisory. they cleared that, they drove it again and it's okay. the north bay moves as well. southbound 101 the exam
