this is in the icehouse area of el dorado county.living in the area saw him looking along spring valley road on friday. but he's not been seen or heard from since. his parents are particularly concerned because although he took his cell phone, he did not take his backpack which is filled with all of his gear. >> my guess is he probably attempted something that was beyond his skill level and got injured from it. >> very dry. if he's not near a water source, dehydration will become an issue. >> reporter: this morning we're in touch with the command center set up at the pacific ranger station along highway 50 that's in the pollack pines area on the way to lake atta hoe. rescue -- lake tahoe. rescue teams are all assisting with the search and they are using police dogs. they are out on horses and off- road vehicles and overhead helicopters from the california highway patrol. so far investigators say there are no indications of foul play tied to mathews's disappearance but we will continue to monitor the search effort. we'll bring you upd
