elaina athans with an update on repairs. reporter: the d.m.v. is closed now and the issue was not resolved by the end of the business day. i spoke to a man who came back here for the second time hoping he could handle the business he came for initially. some folks said they were waiting for hours today hoping to go through, only to be told to go home. the power outage started before 10:00 this morning. they did send out a tweet saying a power outage at the department of revenue was affecting the d.m.v.'s ability to provide some services. department of revenue has been working through the day to restore power. did -- a spokesperson tells me they do not know when the problem will be fixed. people will have to wait a bit. the d.m.v. will be closed monday for martin luther king day. it will reopen tuesday. i got a call from the d.o.t. who told me anyone who had a registration expiring today will now get a 10-day extension free of charge. you will have 10 days to come back and get that renewed. the department of public safety has been notified so if
