hello, everyone, i'm elaine forbes. it's great to see you here today. we're celebrating a 10-year endeavor, 12 years by some count, that has brought us here today to a historic day to celebrate the work that the city has performed with our partner, the san francisco giants, to bring a new mixed income neighborhood to the waterfront. we've also had the helpful support of many, many people from the community. we all know that the late mayor lee would have enjoyed being here today. he was the biggest supporter of the city. he was an advocate for the project. and i believe there bear, he may have been one of the giants number one fans, so we reflect on mayor lee and his legacy and he would have been proud. this ace project that will help build a water front for everyone and deliver benefits to our residents for years to come. the residents of san francisco and the state will enjoy eight new acres of open space. the rehabilitation of pier 48. thousands of new affordable homes, 40% of which are affordable along our waterfront and much more. the project has cr

the three of us would like to thank elaine forbes the port executive director for the nomination for this award. tom carter has the support of the special projects director and brad benson and the division. i also want to say tom as you noted in the video participated in the shared efforts of gaining and maintaining the support of our site neighbors. we want to thank the doi dogpat association. and it's amazingly functional and i think think paul as the lead architect and leading the landscape group including many people and wanted us to appreciate the construction work of the ddr construction and treaty construction and the design space modular. their work brought this together and it's a beautiful space floating on top of a street for three years and then we'll be removed. i also have to think -- thank mohammad because they partner with us with our resolution on the street. the department of homelessness and supportive house is responsible for the outreach and operations of the program. the project began before the creation of the department and i would like to thank the leadership
