. >> elana, from what you've heard, do you believe we'd be having this discussion if they nominated luther strange or any other republican assign aside from roy moore >> i think moving forward, yes, there could be more republican seats up. i think more republicans are going to have a hard time in some of these races especially after some of these big losses that you republicans are really going to crack down on what they know moving forward. >> for a long time, paul ryan seemed like he would be the next one to step up to the plate to take over the gop. now, his role in question seems like he may be out in 2018, where does this really leave the party? especially on capitol hill >> that's speculation, we've actually, reached out to some of the people and they say might not be the case, but if he does leave, it does leave a huge door open for that. i think that on the hill, they're probably going to try to get someone more in line with trump ideals into that spot but there can be a lot of uncertainty going into that >> thanks for coming in, always good to see you, take your christmas card pic

elana, we'll start with you. >> we saw john kelly storm into the white house over the summer and startid of some of president trump's aides. we'll see some of that in the new year as well. there's been a lot of focus on some high-profile departures in the white house. a year into the trump administration, i think we'll see, not only departures, but also some forcible removals. >> wow, more shake-ups to come. karoun? >> running for executive office has always been a different challenge for female candidates. and this year, we are seeing that there are 79 women in the mix running for governor. it's going to test this proposition that social scientists have seen where voters are more comfortable with women in a legislative setting. but they are, you know, it's pushing against the barriers to see women running, this many of them, to be the decider. >> a lot of talk about whether or not this is really going to be the year of the woman, like 1992 was. we'll see what happens in the gubernatorial level. julie? >> you know, i'm really watching to see how republicans and president trump market t

. >> elana, people want it. we know. we see it in construction problems every day in our world. republicans and democrats. we'll have terrific democratic support. infrastructure sometimes means different things to republicans and democrats. >> yes. and the whole idea gary cohn putforth $200 billion leveraged into $1 trillion, democrats said during inauguration they don't like that idea. unveiled a $1 trillion direct spending plan. no tax credits to developers just the money. democrats unveiled that in january. it is pretty far from the truth, to say that republicans and democrats are on the same page about how to do infrastructure. >> here's the one, eugene, i don't know whether it's true or not. my sense is it's not, but the president continues to say that through this tax bill, by kicking out one of the legs of the stool for obamacare, the individual mandate, that he's essentially done away with obamacare. listen to him. >> the individual mandate was very unfair, because you basically are saying, pay for something in order not to have to get health care. so you're paying -- yo
