i teach first grade at eldorado elementary school. before i start, i am much to ask you all to practice some attentive listening. i notice a lot of people putting their heads down. i think we deserve some attention and respect i was part of the san francisco residency program, a program that you are partners in. i was in a room with mr. garcia and you told me your sincere support in the work and training that our program is doing. so much support that you promised all of us jobs for three years. today i got a pink slips and the male and you told me that my services were no longer needed. what happened to the promises that you made and the sincere support that he supposedly had for the students? i teach my students every day the importance of honesty and. i am now asking you to be honest. if you do not truly believe in quality education for all students in, your actions say you do not, do not say you do, do not bother applying to us and getting our hopes up. our teachers want to be at eldorado. they receive specialized training, including $45,000 of teacher training at columbia university. we also host the only san francisco teaching residency program in elementary schools. we think that schools in the desert protection. to put struggling schools against each other to fight for crumbs is not a positive resolution for our district. i ask you to support all schools in need, not just the ones labeled in the zone. that is not equitable. i have a letter i would like to submit that shows we are in need of protection for our teachers. >> i am carolyn samoa, the vice president of paraprofessionals at the elementary and middle school. very soon, you are going to lay off paraprofessionals, and reduced hours, for a total of 249. i urge you to vote down the resolution. i am here to bring your attention to how these layoffs are going to affect not only those who will be laid off, but the students at the schools their work at. if you go through this resolution, including the language, for

a man tried -- eldorado school. the principal sent out this message to parents at about 6:45 yesterday evening. >> this afternoon, two 6th grade girls notified administrators that a latino male in a black car stopped them on the way to school this morning and asked them to get into his vehicle. >> that recorded message goes on to say that the girls did say no and notified administrators at the middle school. they met with the girls and they are investigating the incident but the principal goes on to say that it's important for parents to tell their children to be on the alert. if a stranger bothers them on the way to school, they should tell administration immediately upon arriving at school and do not wait until the afternoon. >> again we told you we met with that custodian and school staff is just arriving. we are waiting for a school principal and a school's resource officer to arrive. i called them at about 5:00 this morning and that resource officer is in charge of this investigation and we are waiting for that
