they tell us he's targeted at least five victims in elevators. most of the crimes have happened at the butler houses on webster avenue. police are releasing video of the suspect. he has a beard, he's wearing a black jacket and a black hat station after he allegedly stole a subway card from one of the victims. he and another man in a white t- shirt are checking to see if if the card is still active. they also want to question the person who he is with. the victims, all of them women, walk into all rights and the suspect follows. that's when he demands them to hand over their purse. in one of the cases the suspect simulates having a handgun. the victim refused to give up her purse. the suspect punched her and off. these crimes took place between october 2nd and december 27th. all of them late at night or early in the morning. most were at the butler houses but one of the robberies happened a few streets away on washington avenue. police say the victims were not seriously injured but definitely shaken up. if you have any information on these crimes

when 17 miners became stuck in an elevator hundreds of feet underground. kenneth craig has the story from new york. kenneth craig: rescue crews brought the last of the trapped miners to the surface around 8:30 thursday morning after a 10 hour ordeal hundreds of feet below ground. the mine's manager says the workers were cold, but their sprits were high.
