cnn chief political analyst gloria borger, and cnn senior legal analyst elie honig. elie, just in terms of what happens in court tomorrow, at what point does it go to judge chutkan? >> so she will have the next appearance, what she will do is, she probably has already set date in the magistrate and said, hey, i want to be parties in front of me. when you first substantive hearing, usually it within a week or two. one that went on quickly. one of the interesting things that will happen tomorrow, typically in the course of being processed, the u.s. marshals, the court staff, they will run someone's rap sheet. where you get your whole criminal history. it occurred to me today, donald trump is not going to have a zero. she is actually gonna have two other pending charges on that rap sheet, which is actually sadly a first in our history. but other than that it will be a largely formalistic procedure. he will enter a plea, it will be not guilty. they will set a bill, but it will be what -- recognizance, which means he can come back when he says. but the big thing with the

. >> so let's bring in cnn senior legal analyst elie honig and what's going on in georgia this morning. what exactly is removal? how does it work here? >> it's a big argument. removal is a rarely used law but it's going to be vital here. essentially what this says, if a person is a federal official or former federal official and get charged with state level crimes they can move the case over into federal court if and this is the big if, if they can show they were acting under color of such federal office. now, mark meadows has already made this argument. he'll have his hearing today saying i was acting as white house chief of staff. jeffrey clark has made this argue. he was a doj official. donald trump has not yet made this argument but i think it's very likely he will. so fani willis, of course, is going to respond, no, you were not acting as a federal official. you were committing crimes and therefore were outside of your federal scope and we'll get our first sense of how the judge deals with that. >> what will we see in court today? >> the argument involving mark meadows' motion wil

cnn's legal analyst elie honing is joining me now on the phone.lled do anyways after the phone, i'm glad you're here right now. tell me, what is your take on this. i know this comes from a memo that seems to be one can chesebro who people believe in reporting is one of the coconspirators listed in the indictment. or does the reaction to now hearing one of the missing public pieces in terms of how the subplot was actually planned? >> a couple of important things, laura. first of all, the piece of evidence that the january 6th congressional hearing did not get, and there deserves a ton of credit because a lot of the information that wound up in the indictment first came through the january six committee. but this is now something new that the doj has found. what i found most important and interesting about this memo is that, while the author, mr. cheeseborough, acknowledges that it is very unlikely to, when that is not necessarily a criminal or long shot argument. but the way -- the plan here, according to the memo, and they say it explicitly is let

i want to get to some of the points that the judge made there, elie. but it's not what the special counsel team was looking for. but it's definitely not what trump's team was looking for. what do you make of the date and whether or not -- how trump's attorneys are feeling about this? >> it's definitely a win for doj. if i was trump's attorneys right now, i would be devastated. i think the judge has wide discretion to set this trial date. i think the judge we just heard from is correct that there's no practical way to -- this trial date is pushing trump's sixth amendment right to have time to prepare his defense. there are 12 million documents in this case. still have to review them. i know the prosecution put together a hit list of best documents. that's nice. it's the defense's decision what they're going to use. they are -- in addition to reviewing those documents, they get to do their own investigation. they have to bring motions. and i think to require them to do that in seven months is really getting close to the line constitutional. >> do you agr

cnn legal analyst elie honig and carrie cordero. elie, let me start with you. what do you think we're going to learn from this hearing tomorrow? i was kind of curious about this. might there be some nuggets or easter eggs lurking in tomorrow's hearing that may be some new information we haven't heard before as fani willis is trying to justify keeping this case in fulton county? >> for sure, jim. i think really what we're going to see tomorrow could be sort of a micros could of the issues that are going to be presents at the trial. essentially what mark meadows is going to be arguing is i was doing my job as chief of staff. fani willis is going to be arguing, no, you were committing the crimes i charged you with. brad raffensperger is on the receiving end of the infamous phone call where trump asks him to find votes. mark meadows is on that call. this georgia state investigator, frances watson, who is another person who mark meadows directly sort of dealt with, interacted with, texted with about trying to look for new votes and to take another look at the electi

eli lilly.is morning from a study conducted by novo nordisk for its weight reduction drug called wegovy 18,000 patient study over five years. average duration of use of the drug was about 30 months and what they were looking for and what the market was very much focused on was not weight reduction -- we know it's doing that -- but what else it did for you in terms of cutting the risk of heart a tack, stroke, other cardiovascular events, and it ended up being at the very top end of market expectations and being very meaningful clinically that's just been huge news, not just for novo nordisk but eli lilly as well. its entrant in the glp 1s is moderna and lily is now sporting a more than half a trillion market cap which puts it well above j&j at about $450 billion. that shows you, and much of that has been due to, of course, the views of and the potential sales for these weight loss drugs, which clearly will have a benefit beyond that, including cutting heart attack risk, stroke risk, and the like.

the trial itself, elie, he is going to be sitting in a courtroom.tv. this is in a courtroom. what does that mean? take people inside that courtroom. >> yeah. it's a whole different ball game. i think yesterday was a reality hit for donald trump's team. it is clear we are going to have one, maybe two trials between now and the election. when you're on a criminal trial, you have to physically be there as the defendant. we remember the e. jean carroll trial a few months ago. that was a civil case. he will have to be physically in the courtroom. it's a full day. it's a long day. trials usually start 9, 10 in the morning and go to 4, 5 in the afternoon. he will be in d.c. he will be in florida. and so he will be physically off the campaign trail. i think it will be really interesting to see from a political perspective how does that play? presumably he'll be getting wall to wall coverage. not the good time when you're a defendant in the criminal case, but presumably he will get a ton of media coverage but won't be out there at rallies. he won't be able t
