eli lilly up almost 23%. but merck has lagged. it's advanced far less. 6% over the same period.ok, it deserves it. there has been a series of stumbles and negative headlines that is just as long as my arm. average trade of 14 times earnings. many of them have much of higher price to earning multiples than merck and even the lilies and the pfizers. granted, there are reasons why merck, one of the largest drug companies on erparth, has been lag effort. let's go through. in december they had stop u.s. development of a cholesterol drug after bad trial results and had to pull the drug overseas and it looked like a real winner. in february, we found out that merck planned to delay some new osteoporosis drugs from the fda which pushed back the company's new drug application next year. another winner. and last month ugly headlines about how a class of type two diabetes drugs, two blockbuster drugs for merck might cause a risk for pan create titus and cancer, mostly fatal. although those stories were mostly sound and fury, signifying nothing. those risks have been known about for years.
