um this is eliana binder , uh, from glide and the policy associate in our center for social justice. and um, i'm sorry to keep you any longer on a friday afternoon, but i just wanted to emphasize the need for prevention resources. and um, regardless of the concerns mentioned about the specific finances for prevention, i would just urge you, um those of you stage and then also in the commission to do not let up on the importance of prevention, um , in the 2022 point in time count. hsh estimated that for every one household, the city was able to house approximately four became homeless. and i've definitely not forgotten about that, um, statistics since i read it, and we see it at glide every day. um this past year, clients requesting rental assistance increased almost 70% and we also gave out more than three times the number of or the amount of funds that we had dispersed the previous year. um, we. we're so overwhelmed by the need that we raised private funds to pilot a new program, um , to provide rental systems for the many clients, not qualifying for other programs, and since the la
