elisa harrington is there live. we can see what's happening on the bay bridge, what are you experiencing? >> reporter: dan, ama, it was supposed to end here, but many have continued onto the bay bridge. this shopping mall behind me is built on a native-american burial ground, they wanted to raise awareness, just one year ago police shot and killed a suspected shop -- this is mlk day, and they say that today they honor his legacy, but they don't just want to talk about anything you learned in school. his "i have a dream" speech. they want to talk about some of the other things they did to really make a change, some of these things that maybe weren't so popular at the time, but now we look back and see how many he really did for this country. starting in oak lend earlier, it was a very large group, gathered at the plaza. some people gave speeching. they were with the third liberation party, i believe was their name, and they did urge the crowd not to resort to violence. they wanted to keep everything peaceful. the gro
