reporting live in studio, elisa raffa.. abc9 news jenna: expect to see all 5 of sioux city's swimming pools open again next summer. that's the recomendation from a "pools committee" examining the long term future of sioux city swimming pools. that committee has been meeting for months, but until today had not offered an official plan. in a unanimous vote, the committee also wants to see 3 city pools closed after next year. here's the breakdown.... replace leeds and cook pools with splash pads after 2016 season. replace leif erikson with a splash pad when it's no longer operational. built in 1977, engineers say leif erikson pool is sinking and would need to be rebuilt. meanwhile the committee is recomending the city look for a future pool site on the northside. the group also wants to close lewis pool.... but not until a new regional water park is built on the city's east side. riverside pool already includes some water park options and would remain open according to the plan. jenna on cam the pools committee plans to hold a public me
