nbc bay area's elise kirschner joins us. elise? >> this is a very busy street. the woman was dragged down fair oaks behind me, and that's where she was brutally raped. >> this is where i guess some of the blood spilled from the victim. >> it happened to fast, no one heard her screams. >> i came out with the dog to maybe 15 minutes after it happened to crime scene tape. >> the woman's blood was washed off the street in the noe valley neighborhood, but people are still shaking, especially as details are emerging about the attack. >> i was shocked and scared. >> reporter: within hours of the brutal rape on thursday morning, a neighborhood group sent out this e-mail, describing how a man grabbed a woman from behind on 24th street, allegedly broke her neck, raped her on the less traveled fair oaks street and then robbed the victim. it all happened right in front of anderson's front door. >> not what you like to hear. not in your neighborhood, not in front of your house, and certainly not when you feel safe. >> in a surveillance video, this man attacked another woman
