one of them is john katko who voted to impeach donald trump but he did nominate elise stefanik, despitefanik's close alliance with trump. as well as ashley hinson, an iowa republican, comes from a swing district. there had been some conservative members who came out for stefanik's opponent which is chip roy, a texas republican, member of the house freedom caucus. some members came and spoke out for him including ken buck who is -- who came out actually supporting liz cheney staying in that position but here backing buck because chip roy has a much more conservative voting record than stefanik. she had one of the most moderate voting records in the house. that's one thing that she has had to tell her colleagues over the last several, two weeks, in which this all came up is that she won't buck her party. she claimed she'd stick with her party on big votes. she'll essentially toe the party line and she'll only serve this term as conference chair, if elected and try to opt for a chairmanship in the house, assuming republicans take the majority in the next congress. all this playing out righ
