abc news reporter elissa harrington tells us while there was no damage there are shaken nerves. >> the 4.1 magnitude earthquake jolted wine country before 8:00 last night. residents described an abrupt shaking that lasted ten seconds. >> all of a sudden there was like a big bang and the blinds went back and forth. it was centered around yountville known for the world-class culinary scene like the three-time restaurant, the french laundry, they were hosting a dinner party when the dishes started to shake. >> all of a sudden i had one of my french doors open and it sounded like a very large truck was coming down the street, just bouncing along and all of a sudden the table shook, was there a loud crack and then it was over. >> reporter: she says the tremor didn't even scare her dog, but it did rattle others triggering memories of the napa quake that damaged more than a thousand buildings last year. >> it was a little scary especially since last year. >> today workers continue to make repairs in napa's downtown. there are no reports of new damage, but people tell me the tremor serves as a

elissa harrington e plains how this would work. >> reporter: it's a familiar problem for bay area commuterscrawling bumper to bumper on the bay bridge. >> the freeway is always cool. an ac transit proposal aims to ease some of the congestion, but the plan is an unusual one. right now busses and cars share lanes of traffic on the bay bridge so they're all in this mess together during the morning commute. the proposal would send busses to the eastern span into one lane of traffic heading west. >> so drivers heading to oakland would have busses passing by in the opposite direction going toward the city in what's called a contra flow lane. >> you know, and i think they would be a little scary and you know, to see busses coming at you while you're traveling down the highway. the bridge would require a movable barrier like the one on the golden gate and narrower lanes. the contra flow lane would only operate during the morning commute. the pat efrjer is not convinced it would save that much time. >> if it were up to me i would have added the bridge wider and maybe added two more lanes on top and
