elizabeth: yeah. peter: and one of the stories you tell in your article -- i'm going to start with the republican side -- you talk about parlr. what happened? elizabeth: parler was removed from the apple and google stores, and also amazon. amazon has cloud computer services. they canceled the web services contract for a while. republicans freaked out and said this was an antitrust violation and it showed that if amazon is big enough to cancel parler, then it why do we need an antitrust law against amazon? antitrust law is supposed to go after anticompetitive conduct from monopolies, and amazon does not have anything like a monopoly in this cloud computing services. and they are able to find another host to host its website. it does -- republicans wanted to use this as an example of why we needed different rules when it actually seemed like a good example of how the market works in this realm and parler was able to just find another provider in the market to host its website. peter: now a couple of the

hello, sylvia, jessica and elizabeth. i want to start with elizabeth because i now have listened to the book twice and the second time i heard things i didn't hear the first time and i was happy to do that and i tell you what struck me, elizabeth, you by all rights could have written a memoir, your reporting was stiller from cambodia and you kept at it all the way through the trials. but you didn't do that, you wrote something different, yo wrote a piece about 3 women who changed the course -- i was curious about your thought process. did you start thinking this is what i'm going to do or was it an evolution? >> well, thanks, debra, and thank you for having us all. debra, you've written several books. of course, i wasn't the original. my previous editor, the lamented loss that we last a few years ago alex suggested a memoir but when i started to take a crack at it, i realized that now this -- what's really interesting in my life is the women who covered the war who i followed, the trick was to figure out how to put that t

elizabeth: yes certainly, this is the same crucial. i'm talking about, this prayed in prison uprisings when prisons themselves are becoming blacker and browner and talking about them may be becoming a new organizing space frankly. but a new set of possibilities for the organizing that people are similarly seeking prayed and of course living literally, the conditions of incarceration are very different. when responding to an occupation in everyday policing of every single movement within the prison itself read i don't deal with the present rebellions in the book but certainly they are linked there also part of very much part of the freedom struggle in the civil rights and black power movement. keeanga: another question, do you see any patterns and rebellions recovered it by the press. today there is ay pattern in which police pretty statements and requests that telephone videos come out often contradicting those paredes any kind of press coverage. elizabeth: so most of the press coverage the vast majority of it is one based on police ac
