i want to raise what was brought forward by democratic senators including elizabeth warren who said ifhe fed is too cautious, it would needlessly risk our economy heading towards recession. talk about the validity of this view. there have been a lot of concern about the political pressure on the fed to do more. 75, is this economy warranting anywhere near that mega cut? anna: normally, you will not find me agreeing with senator warren's ideas about the fed, however i do agree with her reasoning that if the fed does want to ensure that there will be a soft landing, it needs to cut more rapidly to get to the neutral pace. i disagree we need 75 right now. i think the most important jobs report looking forward is the one on november 1. that report will show whether rate cuts is doing anything to stabilize the unemployment rate. if it is on a path to 4.7% at the end of the year, the fed probably will need to do another 50 basis point cuts in november after the election or it will have to do 75 down the line. sonali: what do you think this means for the overall trajectory of cuts? it is rema

i think back to the 2020 campaign with elizabeth warren in the democratic primary. it does allow for people to rip that apart. i'm not saying you shouldn't give as much detail as possible. when you're running against donald trump, you give enough information so people understand what you are trying to do and how it will benefit their lives, while also contrasting the fact that donald trump's entire plan is more tax cuts for rich people and corporations, and a tariff that will raise taxes on everybody, and exacerbating the deficit by trillions of dollars. and so i think it's really important that you understand that you're in a campaign, and you have a contract with your opponent. and those are just -- that's just the reality of the situation. so you give enough details, but not too much. >> tariffs that are going to pay for child care, another very important part of the conversation. but how that's going to work is up for grabs. eugene. let me let you have the last word, if you can, eugene, which is this. the trump messaging, none of the other positive economic indi

on the other hand we saw elizabeth warren saying 75 is it. >> really a very close call. >> how close you watching movement of dollar in relation to chinese yuan? >> very closely. we have been testing support and a lot of talk about chinese exporters not been selling as much dollars for the past 18 months so more push factors for them out of the dollar. not seeing the pull factor. the china economic fundamentals over the weekend getting worse. no pull factor but more push factor so we are trying to balance the two things to see what are the factors. haslinda: as you said, the dater out of china is negative. is there reason to reduce holdings in treasuries? >> you know, we have not many seen that much of that but what we have seen is chinese exporter sort of holding back selling dollars and paying down dollar debt to reduce liabilities. we have been seeing all of this and trying to understand going forward. haslinda: some say perhaps there is a greater urgency to introduce measures. is this the stage where it needs to seriously prop up its economy? >> we believe there is more urgency.
