this home is here on the 600 block of spring avenue, again, here in elkins park. we're learning this information from family members saying they were wonderful couple ready to celebrate another wedding anniversary in august after more than zero seven years of marriage. now this fire broke out just after 4:30 this morning twin home, they called authorities after smelling smoke, when fire officials arrived they found the couple first floor bedroom, where most of the damage in this home is contained. and the victims daughter tells me that her father did use an oxygen tank, and that could have made some of these flames worse. after about two hours, crews were able to get this blaze under control. they say tough fight, this is called balloon structure, we also know the neighboring twin home here has smoke damage and the family may not be able to get in there for a while. and we know that about four, 150 firefighters were here, fighting this blaze. again, we just learned from the victims family members, that this couple has been identified as roy and helen finestone, bo

couple in their 90s, who lived at this home behind me on the 600 block of spring avenue here in elkins park. you can see the damage to this building, it is still smarts and smoldering. i have with me the deputy fire marshall here, cheltenham township, timothy shuck. thank you so much for joining thus morning, what can you tell us about this fire >> a 191 call came in from a neighbor, seeing smoke from the neighbor's house, the neighbor lives in the adjoining property. right now i can tell you weaver confirmed several fatalities, elderly couple lived in the property.

let's get to breaking news out of elkins park. after an early morning house fire on the 600 block of spring avenue. right now you can see fire crews still keeping an eye on that home. they say it went up in flames pretty quickly. it spread to the attic of the home. smoke still lingering there from that home. jenny joyce is headed to that scene. she of course will bring us an update as soon as she arrives there. you can see a firefighter coming down from the attic of the home there. having to keep watch thon to make sure that fire does not flare up again but again we have learned sad until one person is dead after that house fire. let's get to some more breaking news. 11-year-old boy recovering after being shot in the chest last night by a stray bullet. the shooting happened just before 10:00 o'clock on the 3400 block of township line road in chester. police say the boy was in his home. the stray bullet came right in, hit him. he was rush to the hospital. he is recovering at chop in stable condition. >>> local man and his wife were

wife in their 90s has died as a fire rips through their montgomery county home spring avenue in elkins park. a neighbor called 911 to report the blaze at 44:00 a.m. when firefighters arrived at the found flames pouring from the second floor of the home and roaring out of the roof. the couple was later found dead inside a first floor bedroom. we have a crew at the scene and we'll bring you a live report at 10:00 a.m. >>> there's new information about the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run on the schuylkill expressway. one person has died. the 30-year-old victim was hit and killed on the eastbound side of the expressway at the montgomery drive off ramp at 10:30. the driver never stopped. we're told that the striking vehicle is a late model dark colored vehicle. it has damage to the front passenger side and the windshield. if you have any information call pennsylvania state police. >>> this morning an 11-year-old boy is alive, but in stable condition after a stray bullet hit him in the chest sitting inside his own home on township line road in chester when the bullet came flying in last night.
