ellison barber has the latest from washington. >> reporter: the supreme court is giving the state oftil noon tuesday to respond to a petition filed by the department of justice on friday. the doj filed the petition asking the supreme court to step in, block the ruling of the hawaii judge, and clarify the decision made by the supreme court last month. the supreme court handed them a partial win in june, ruling it was reasonable for the government to enforce travel restrictions on people from six muslim-majority countries if they did not have a, "credible claim of a bona fide relationship with a person already in the u.s." credible claim and bona fide relationships are what's an issue now. the hawaii court says the government is not properly implementing the court's ruling and that their definition of those terms is far too narrow. on thursday judge derek watson expanded the list of relationships people can use to get into the u.s. if they are from one of the countries listed in the executive order. he also ordered the government to allow refugees if they are formerly working with the
