wgn's patrick elwood has more about the delivery woman known well in the pill hill neighborhood. 50-year-old jeffrey carpenter of chicago was the man killed in monday night's crash of an ultra light glider in the fox river. he was a passenger in the glider when it went down near the dayton dam in lasalle county. the pilot was able to free himself and swim to the shore to get help. he told police he was having engine trouble just before the aircraft crashed. a local soldier was laid to rest in mokena, two weeks after he was killed in afghanistan. 19-year-old aaron toppen and the rest of his unit were ambushed by the taliban. and when air support was called in, the coalition planes mistakenly killed toppen and four colleagues. his superiors in afghanistan say toppen carried out his duties with quiet professionalism. his family remembers him as a man who was born to serve. >> he represents something very good about humanity and about this country. we all have a hole in our hearts the size of a 19 year-old hero. we will never be able to fill that. but today we will start to heal. >>among the mem
