what's different now from 2011 when rahm emanuel cruised to victory? is that rahm emanuel has a big opponent and he has a record to run on. he's made mistakes along the way and he's paying for it now in this election where you need a majority to win outright. >> what are the biggest mistakes you're saying that he kind of committed to causing to be in the situation he is now? >> the biggest thing he did was become known to his critics as mere 1% and though he had some ideas on what to do to improve education, not necessarily bad, he did it without getting community buy in. what i'm referring to is closing dozens of chicago public schools in african-american neighborhoods. he tangled with the teachers union, which in chicago is a very potent force. in fact the woman who leads the union would have been his strongest opponent and was getting ready to run for mayor but got ill and could not do it. this is what sets the stage for some of the problems you're seeing today and why even the internal polls of the campaign show that if he wins he goes into this fi
