used, fisherman's wharf that we all recognize and of course now to the ferry building once the embarcadaro has been removed. there is the next point that really is china basin where at&t park is, below that pier 70 is for review for development. ~ under review for development. i wouldn't call it a gap, but a long space that interrupts this rhythm of architectural features along the water front that punctuate one's experience as you walk along the bay. you might felt that yourself. our proposal is not just to create meaningful waterfront access, but also to create something that feels in line with the rhythm of architectural features that define the shoreline as we see san francisco today. so, that was just one small point we wanted to raise in terms of the larger urban vision that the project represents in addition to waterfront access. the next thing to point out is that there is a tremendous focus being put on the development of this pier in terms of managing the pollutants and other issues that are being sort of -- i would say are component of the decay of the pier as it sits today and

the embarcadaro, of course. the second sound meter person will have a decibel meter and will measure the decibels throughout the course of the event in various places throughout the neighborhood. so, they'll go to 101 lombard, measure the decibels. they'll go to a different residence. they'll measure the decibels. one of the things we're doing with the [speaker not understood] organization is setting what the ambient decibel levels are. i am also not a sound acoustic ition and that's why we're hiring the best in san francisco over the first couple of shows to develop what is the baseline now, what is the baseline for a concert and is it within the reasonable limits. >> and do you have a written plan of where these people are going to be and regarding when they are checking decibels in the neighborhood? >>> there are a number of individuals in the neighborhood that have already volunteered for the residences to be used. so we're developing that plan with charles salter now. >> thank you. >>> thank you. >> one of

in this new neighborhood, here along the embarcadaro, the san francisco exporatorium is truly reborn bigger and better than ever, and we know in this new location and facility and sort of a new sense of enthusiasm it is going to be a huge success and a integral part of what visitors come to enjoy in san francisco and of course what all residents in the bay area come to enjoy. it is fantastic, i know that my kids used to love to come visit. i know that they will be excited and they are kind of big now and they will be excited to come and visit this new facility as well. we just aired and i want to remind for those of who you did not see it, i did a half hour special, thank you very much. and it is exciting to see the development on the water front embarcadaro. >> i broke into the trades early on in my career, just down the street at the old shipyard and my father was a bottler in the brewery and you hear that it will be part of this project is a win/win, unfortunately my father is no longer here. but he has told me the stories of the days, back in the 60s and in the 50s. and again, i am in full support of this, not only for the residents, of san francisco, but for the new opportunities that are going to arise for the local higher, and also the apprentices that have been shut out of the projects for the last few years due to the down turn in the economy. i think that this project with the amount of square footage and the development of the whole water front is key to the survival of the programs that are here in san francisco. and also, to have a project like this, just steps away from the dog patch and also from south of market, and to be able to stroll from the ballpark right across the street and be able to enjoy the parks that are in this development. i would enco

be a 30-year, 40-year out plan to get to the point where you could get from ocean beach to the embarcadaro in 25 minutes. and i know that we have to start planning in order to do that and we have to start making those changes and we have to identify what those changes are going to be and that there will be support for them, not just from the public, but from our elected officials as well. and i'm wondering, do we have any process -- i know we talked awhile ago about some level of c-e-q-a reform that can help us see that our internal projects. do we feel like that's progressing to the point where it really is going to start to be a benefit? i know when we talked about this, director heinicke brought up the point if we do achieve some reform that will allow us to speed up improvements, that it is going to make more sense to wait until we've got that reform and then embark on those changes. can i just get a little sense from you what we're feeling on that? because when i look at some of the projects that we're working on now, i feel like this is incredibly daunting. >> yes. so, the time frame
