embarcadero. we also believe that the development -- it's important that the development create unfailing welcoming place. the site should create drama through balance of the site, the buildings, and public accommodations and draws and welcomes people whether the facility is in use or not. that there should be 24 hour activity as much as to develop. that the site in the open spaces should serve the needs of the immediate neighborhood and the city and the region and given the pier is visible from all sides and vantage points there should be few blank points and strong access to the water's edge and the sunny edge facing the basin and the pier should have direct access to the water and not slope down and step down and give people direct access to the bay. on the eastern edge the embarcadero the character should be one of openness and transparency and the pier and the public spaces and the bay beyond and finally in terms of the guidelines that we presented it should be unfailinglily public place that

embarcadero currently supplying power from the mid-market substations and through those soils. repair could take eight hours to several weeks. maintaining the embarcadero station is critical to the san francisco downtown and waterfront region. the system of reliability was raised during the study interview with pg&e in november 2011 and pg&e followed up with the council getting support to ada third connection to the embarcadero station with this going to the portero substation and improve system reliability particularly into the downtown area in a major earthquake and allow pg&e more flexibility with work and unexpected equipment outages. they gave three routes and options to provide feedback and you can see from the box, the green, red and blue routes so pg&e is continuing to work with the city and the project design and the approval process and hopes to begin work in 2014 or 2015. so looking ahead we will be completing the life line interdependences study in 2013. we are also in the process of developing a work program then. in the last meeting in september we asked participa

we have puddles of water here on the embarcadero. this is not from today's rain. we only saw .1" here in san francisco. this was caused from today's king tides. and the next king tide will occur tomorrow morning at 9:33 a.m. it will measure 6.8 feet so you will want to expect a little bit of minor flooding right here on the embarcadero. okay. how much rain fell within the bay area today alone? let's take a look. it looks like so far in richmond .2" of rain. san francisco only .1." these are very anemic measurements. and it looks like for the most part, it doesn't help as far as our rainfall totals are concerned. let's look at the deficit because right now in san francisco, we are way below normal as far as the statistics are concerned. we are nearly 5.5" below normal and san jose nearly 3." the same story in san jose. what needs to be done? more rain. we have six more weeks of winter weather here in the bay area before spring. doesn't look like we'll see a major weather pattern change. it all needs to be seen. we'll stay on top of it with mobile weather right here

we're here on the embarcadero in san francisco. and we're caught in the evening commute as is pretty normal for this time of night in the bay area. you're going to get it one way or another. the folks at texas a & m transit institute put together a study. they wanted to find out what were the worst cities in america when it comes to commute traffic. we're not the worst but pretty close. let's look at the chart here. it looks like washington, d.c. comes in number one. believe it or not, it can take up to three hours to complete a commuter drive that normal takes about 30 minutes when it's noncommute time. second place, los angeles. it's a mess down there. they got 15 million people. that's understandable. and then third, san francisco/bay area. and a lot of it has to do with people funneling into san francisco into the south bay and then back out again at commute time. they looked at this and figured out that, believe it or not, people are lose about 5 billion hours worth of productivity every year in the united states because of tr
