getting off the bay bridge we have the purple route took you toward the embarcadero area.hat's gone. you have to hit city streets which takes you along 101 and van ness and over to lombard. that's your solution toward the two freeways that were destroyed, had to be destroyed. they weren't destroyed in the earthquake as we talked about, cypress, the bay bridge, those two major freeways were the ones that were damaged but the other two multideck freeways there was concern over them so we had to close them after the freeway and it was years later that they were destroyed, but now look at this, as a result of that embarcadero freeway taken down we can see this beautiful clock tower and the beautiful view of the ferry building. up until the freeway was destroyed, we couldn't see a look at that beautiful architecture and for folks familiar with the ferry building there's the plaza here with the trains running through it, that was completely blocked by this multistory basically looked like a parking structure but it was a roadway. also the central freeway being taken down, we als

a quick update on the safe embarcadero navigation center. i wanted to update you on the advisory group which is to advise us as this process and as the center gets cited and services provided. i have appointed rick dickerson and alisa rogers as chair and vice-chair of the advisory group. i seah alice is in the audience. rick is a former co-chair and we know ms. rogers, she is the co-chair of south beach rincon mission bay neighborhood association and the chair of sea wag. so thank you for serving. the next meeting of the advisory group is coming this wednesday at 5:30 at the south beach harbor room. they will get an update from homeless and port housing. they'll be announcing who they selected as a provider. five keys operate the center which is 128-bed facility and we hear very good things about five keys. the public works department will provide an update on construction. if you've been by the site the insides are being constructed now. the police department will be providing an update on police incidents within the safety zone. there's go

so we looked at the port multihazard risk assessment for the seawall program is looking at the embarcadero facilities. so this report actually is not looking at this. this is looking at the southern waterfront facilities and what would be impacted there. and we looked at it across a number of categories, port structures which is historic buildings shipping piers open space, which is self explanatory. transportation which is varied and the ground transportation links to port facilities. a stormwater sewage infrastructure and ongoing adaptation projects. here's a couple examples of maps we have produced. you can see the faint blue line showing the 108 inches. and you know, the entirety of the jurisdiction is captured within this line. so we're really seeing that all the port facilities are potentially at risk from sea level rise and coastal flooding. and so this is showing all the port structures that are there. the map on the right is showing the port open spaces. and we have those across those other categories as well. and so finally just some kind of high-level key issues that sort of eme

right next to the ktvu studios here on embarcadero. we have developing news tonight. >> reporter: we could actually see and smell the fire from the parking lot of our studios. i want to move out of the way so that you can see exactly where this happened. they are still up there trying to make sure that there is no fire in the walls in between the unit. fortunately no one was injured, but it was quite a scare for the residents here tonight. the fire crews say they got the call about 7:58 this evening, and when they arrived, they saw flames coming from a second floor unit, and then spreading up to the third floor. there are two levels of the same residence here, they said. the chief called for a second alarm. the crews we haven't inside to try to stop it from spreading inside, and also they put on lad inventory try to knock it off from above. outside, we just saw residents lined any long the sidewalk and the parking lot. some said at first when they heard the alarm, they thought it might be a drill or a prank, but then they started smell

a new lawsuit has been filed by the group called safe embarcadero for all. now the group says that the city violated state and local laws and never obtain permits to build the 200 bed homeless shelter. last month. the same group went to court to try to stop construction. but a judge denied the request and construction continued. the attorneys for the group filed the latest motion against the city of san francisco today. pif that motion is approved sa francisco will be required to stop further construction. a hearing is now set for november that well. >>the north bay investigation tonight is underway after a body was found near china camp state park in marine county right near sandra fell officials with the marin county sheriff's officer saying they're investigating this death as suspicious. the body was reported around 8 o'clock this morning in the area of me walk meadows, several roads were closed in the area as detectives combed the scene officials have not released any other details. >>police san bruno have arrested a city employee they say he sexually as

we're looking at this video of the embarcadero freeway, take you off the bay bridge and fly you past the ferry building toward the water's edge and eventually toward chinatown area. it's a forgotten visual. here is a different angle, the tower is the bay bridge. the one in front of it is the ferry building clock tower and could you not see that from city streets because of the double decker freeway. it's a totally different both of those multideck freeways, central and embarcadero were closed after the collapse of 880, after the bay bridge clams of the collapse of the upper deck, both were torn down and these two freeways were torn down but never replaced. through traffic in san francisco we mapped it out for you, getting off the bay bridge, as you look over here, you get off the bridge and you hit the streets now, but the purple route you see that used to curb toward the embarcadero, we saw the video there and you see it easy over toward the piers and pier 39 but now you have to take the city streets, very know them as van ness and lombard. map says highway 101 off of octavia. that
