we have emersion. we have some of the other programs. what does it tell us about our el's and their achievement? >> so that was some of the questions that we did ask at the -- when information was given to the pac and again we were -- the conversation was very interesting because we were told that christina wong was great about showing all of the information, but in terms of gleaning any real information or what we could really see from the nmpgdz it seemed if the district was a little hesitant but we're hoping when we see the results of fifth grade we will continue to see if what the trajectories for these pathways particularly for this and you have a copy of the report and i am specifically referring to frames 21 and 23, and these are just snapshots of how we're doing, and just as we can see with snapshots when we're closing the achievement gap we can look at them again like i said unfringingly and what is the data showing us and what can we look at and if we're looking at the data like a layperson it does seem like there are challenge

and what really stood out in my mind there were accolades and celebrations for one of our public emersion schools and getsing the recognition they so deserve for academic achievements but through it all all i could think of all our kids want is the opportunity to growth and rise and achieve excellence at one location and we would love to give our kids the opportunity to wow you. thank you. >> good evening. my name is karen [inaudible] and i am a kindergarten parent at creative arts charter school. our family is a bilingual family so choosing the school was for me very stressful but when we chose creative arts charter school we were very sure that our son -- that was the correct place where our son could thrive. my son looks forward to go to school everyday. my son tells me that he loves math. his teacher tells me how well he's doing in math, and my son also tells me how he loves learning to read, and we practice every night, but my son also tells me how he sits on the black top with the other children to eat his lunch. he also tells me how he wants to chuck out books from the school libra

procedure is to get into them, and we have been monitoring el student access and enrollment in the dual emersion programs. it's very popular right now as world languages become increasingly important and there is a certain balance that is supposed to exist so we visit the schools to see if that and monitor to see that balance does exist. we've made progress on our sfusd's communication with families of the el students, especially around the results of the selt and used to be in english so the parents would get the results and they would not know what it was, so although it costs a bit of money it's now translated and goesout to our families in their native language, and there was a lack of translation on the sfusd website, and this was brought to the attention of sfusd, and they now provide the translation so that the website is accessible to everybody, and another thing that we were able to accomplish was that lowell and soda did not have their applications in languages other than english, and these are very prestigious schools and we did not want to see our english language learners exclude fr

as chairman of the new york federal reserve he had just spent several sleepless and chaotic weeks emersedcomplexities of the crisis and had been working closely with his republican predecessor at treasury to save the financial system. then with the wreckage of our economy still smoldering and unstable i asked him to help put it back together. and thanks in large part to his steady hand our economy has been growing again for the past three years. our businesses have created nearly six million new jobs. the money that we spent to save the financial system has largely been paid back. we put in place rules to prevent that kind of financial meltdown from ever happening again. an auto industry was saved. we made sure taxpayers are not on the hook if the biggest firms fail again. we've taken steps to help underwater homeowners come up for air, and open new markets to sell american goods overseas. and we've begun to reduce our deficit through a balanced mix of spending cuts and reforms to a tax code that, at the time that we both came in was too skewed in favor of the wealthy at the expense of mi
