now let's go straight to moscow where our correspondent emily sherwin is standing by emily severally cough receives a verdict of guilty and he rejects all accusations himself what evidence have both sides provided. well a server in the cove has been found guilty of large scale fraud and essentially is being accused of embezzling public funds that the ministry of culture gave to him for a theater project called platform-a here in moscow and they say that he was in charge of a group that embezzled those funds now critics here say of course that this case is politically motivated and even one of the judges in charge of the court case last year gave the case back to the prosecution for what that judge says were actually in consistencies in the case of himself says that the case is absurd that it was completely fabricated he says that he didn't have anything to do with funding at all he wasn't in charge of those funds he was just in charge of putting on plays and performances and he's really maintained his innocence and said that he wants to that he doesn't regret taking artistic freedoms

let's bring in was emily sherwin in moscow for more on this story hi emily how serious are these charges. well these charges certainly are serious criminal negligence is quite an accusation and of course this case is very high profile putin himself got involved when the news broke he went on t.v. publicly chiding the head of the plant. or the person the company that runs the plant norilsk nickel so the fact that the president himself got involved declared a state of emergency it was clear that heads would have to roll including on the political level and there actually have been several other detentions in the case as well including the head of the plants do we have a full picture about what happened here what caused the still. well the author already have announced that they have an initial theory which is that the concrete foundations that kind of were underneath the fuel reservoir that they collapsed and caused the spill now we don't know why those concrete foundations collapsed at the owner of the plant on the one hand says that that could be because of permafrost underneath the plan
