abc 7 news anchor eric thomas is there live for the latest. eric? >> reporter: and we are in the mary lake neighborhood where up until now there's been a steady stream of cars coming in since the evacuation order was lifted. we're on the southeast side of what was the carr evacuation area. as you see, things are slow now. but cal fire is allowing people to repopulate areas on this side of the carr fire where the blaze is largely contained. police check point was posted at the entrances to make sure that no one except residents and utility workers were allowed in. pg&e crews were on hand to check for gas leaks. for residents, the first order of business was cleaning up and moving back into homes. you're about to hear from two people, a gentleman who actually came home before the evacuation order was lifted. and a woman who was just moving back in today. >> it was a ghost town, very surreal and eery, and so quiet, unbelievable. >> it's such a huge relief, walking in, seeing all my stuff there. i had to leave my fish. they are still alive, thankfully t
