eric fisher chief meteorologist out of our sister station wbz has the latest. >> we're not done with michael yet but it's one for the record books. this was the strongest hurricane to make landfall in the continental u.s. in october to be recorded. the third lowest pressure to make landfall in the united states. that pressure is important because it has a direct relationship to the strong winds. this is about as strong as it gets when it comes to a land falling hurricane. now we're watching the remnants still packing a punch moving north and east as we head throughout the day on thursday. we'll see the rainfall go up the eastern seaboard and then friday morning some heavy rainfall right along the southern new england coastline over toward cape cod before it slides out to sea. there's still a lingering tornado threat today. that's usually the case with a land falling tropical system. we'll watch the carolina well as the savannah area of georgia for brief spin-up tornadoes. the winds are lower but they're still packing a punch. this is moving over an area that had a lot of rainfall fro
