leading off our coverage is eric lipton, "new york times" investigative reporter. one of the reporters on this elon musk breaking news tonight. this is such a troubling report. and it seems that most of your sourcing comes from within the company? >> there are people who are close to the company who had knowledge of his reporting and lack of reporting relative to foreign contacts that did share information with us, including, you know, one individual who you named who has since left the company. and we have an email exchange that this individual -- you know that he wrote. and that is -- that's among the information that we have. we have multiple reports that parties that are close to the, did that they were concerned about whether or not mr. musk and others of the company were complying with something that's called continuous vetting. it's the requirement that once you have security clearance, you have to -- you subject yourself to continuous vetting to ensure that you are entitled to continue to have this top-secret clearance. >> yeah, this is -- this is unusual.
