ktvu's eric rasmussen has more on the new fox tv show. eric you're headed for the rock. >> reporter: and just in any minute now we're expected to get on this ferry right here to head out to alcatraz, and as you mentioned it is the back drop for a new show, some called it a time travel thriller. the concept is 302 prisoners that actually disappeared from the island in 2003. next, the prison shut down, next they re-appeared in present day. >> in 1963, alcatraz officially closed. all the prisoners were transferred off the island. >> it comes from executive producer jjabrama, who is behind shows like lost and fringe. and we'll have people on their thoughts, doing the show and the city of san francisco as the back drop. we can tell you most of the show was shot in vancouver, however, we got a look at the pilot episode. it has the beauty of the prison as well. one of our cameras caught some of the filming in the show in russian hill. and as we come back out live here, getting ready to go to alcatraz, i talked to the film commission on the situat
