eric shawn is live in our new york city newsroom, he's been looking into the events of this morning. >> reporter: imagine the terror this morning in the high school. the kids are gathered having breakfast, then suddenly they hear popping sounds, a gunman in the hallway, described by police as a fellow student. that's how it went down this morning at 7:30 in the high school that has about a thousand students. the gunman they say is a student who kids say got in trouble at the school. we don't know if the suspect is a current student, had been expelled or suspended or is an outcast in the social group. one of the students says he's not a jock or popular kids, saying the suspect does have friends but he is the outcast type. that tragic personality that we have seen over the past several years in this country, in these types of school shootings stemming from the columbine shootings in 1999 when a tomb couple of students killed dozens of students. there were threats on twitter saying people will be hurt tomorrow with potential gunman showing guns and pistols in a bedroom. that has not all
