eric shawn is live with the breaking details from new york. good evening, eric. >> good evening, bret. he lied, and there's evidence to prove it. so says the lawyer for former top official about governor chris christie's claims concerning the george washington bridge lane closures. the governor denies he knew the order from his former chief of staff was supposedly political payback against a democratic mayor. he said he never knew about the closings until they were over. now the governor is accused of not telling the truth about that. david wildstein was a port authority official who oversaw the closings. he took the fifth before a committee hearing about the scandal. he's the one who got the e-mail from kelly ordering the closings. his lawyer wrote today, evidence exists as well tying mr. christie to having knowledge of the lane closures during the period where they were closed, contrary to what the governor stated publicly in a two-hour press conference he gave immediately before mr. wildsteen was supposed to appear from the comforty. he cont

as he, as we wait for governor christie, eric shawn joins us live from the new york newsroom to bring us up to speed. what happened, eric? >> reporter: jon, one of the new questions people are asking this morning whether a 91-year-old woman died because the christie administration potentially engaged in that political payback. that is one question we expect the governor possibly to address. he will likely defend himself and denounce his administration's actions in that bridge lane closing. fort lee, new jersey, emergency services tell "the bergen record" newspaper that a traffic jam delayed them from get together stricken woman. she died from cardiac arrest. that the traffic jam doubled response time for other cases. this happened in last september. three lanes on the new jersey bridge closed for four days causing delays. bridget anne kelly, saying that it ordered problems and bragging about the chaos it cost. the democratic mayor supposedly the target of retribution, denounced christie's actions. >> incredit me to peel in power, in positions of authority would be so venomous. i still
