. >>> i'm eric thomas. richmond and contra costa county plan to share what they've dug up in their investigation into the huge chevron refinery fire. they called a news conference for 10:00 this morning. amy hollyfield is live with a preview. >> reporter: chevron has received more than 18,000 claims so far. today the company plans to bring a number of agencies together to brief people on how the investigation is going so far. people informed themselves saturday, they went to a seminar about learning your rights put together by some attorneys. one attorney says more than 3,000 have signed up to seek legal action against chevron. plaintiffs' attorneys say they believe the fire at the refinery was preventable. some community leaders have questioned whether chevron has done all it could the fire -- it could since the fire. although there does seem to be plenty of interest in suing chevron, there are some who are skeptical. >> it took eight years for the '92 fire to get $100. they took all that money and one guy
