first alert meteorologist erica grow joins us now with a look forecast.en cold in here. >> it is but not as cold as it is outside. it's down to 39 degrees in gaithersburg, 43 in downtown washington, 41 in manassas and leesburg, not terrible for this time of year, especially when you factor in how much colder it was yesterday. it's about 10 degrees warmer in frederick and gaithersburg, 11 degrees warmer in winchester warmer in martinsburg and hagerstown than it was yesterday at this time. temperatures will continue to get a little better tomorrow, but we have rain on the approach moving in on saturday. as we head into the weekend, it will be below freezing still in the mountains as the rain initially falls, so icy spots are likely in the i-81 corridor and points west of that, but in the immediate metro area by the time the rain arrives it will just be rain. so we don't have to be concerned about the wintery weather here in the immediate metro area. sunday more rain arrives and temperatures will remain above average for this time of year. overnight tonight
