erica: sure. one interesting thing that student speech satire cases bring up is will that student audience understand it is toow important create the opportunities for students to be able to engage with satire to develop the skills so that as adults, citizens, and voters they can engage with the speech and understand it better. is thisrom tinker hazardous freedom, right? experiment as all life is an experiment. when we talk about free speech, we talk about risk. we see that in the public school speech cases and in the discussion of that tired. it is a risk, but one worth taking so that young people cannot only learn how to create satire that is meaningful, purposeful and good, but to identify it. at the likelihood, the plausibility, of young people to see satire that is created for them by their peers , but thetand that way protection is important so they can start to develop those skills. we do look at student speech in public schools differently. the tinker decision, which conveys first amendmen

erica, what are you watching for?we're looking for that landfall to take place within the next couple hours or so, by early evening. here is alberto right now, it looks like it's hitting the panhandle but it's still about 30 miles to the south and southwest of panama city, florida, with winds currently sustained at 50 miles per hour and it is heading due north at 8 miles per hour. so, it's still a couple hours from landfall, but when it does, it will quickly lose that wind speed, so 7:00 p.m. this evening, 45-mile-an-hour winds and the big issue with this storm is going to be the rain, because it does have a lot of energy with it, so as it continues to overspread and unwind, we'll see the rain become more widespread. by thursday, it's all the way up into canada, basically, and notice the wind is no longer an issue, but again, the rainfall will be the primary factor with this system. so, through the rest of today, we're going to see that rain and wind along the gulf coast with scattered rain spreading into the southeas

here with us nbc new york meteorologist erica groh following this for us. what's going to happen? when will this make landfall? >> within the next several hours. it's still about 50 miles away from the florida coastline, but it is a slow mover. so here is alberto as of right now. still a subtropical storm and the winds sustained at 60 miles an hour near the center right now. again, about 50 miles to the south of panama city, florida. its track will take it early in the evening into the land areas of the panhandle with winds of 45 miles per hour at that point. it will still have tropical storm strength at its center, but the bigger threat here is going to be that widespread rainfall. wednesday and thursday, it's all the way up near canada at that point. the wind is no longer an issue, but we are have widespread rain threat. what we're looking at over the next few days. today we have the rain and the wind near the gulf coast, plus that threat for storm surge as you just heard, two to four feet in some locations. and then tuesday, tomorrow, the remnants move in to the southeast. we'l
