news4's erica gonzalez is live with the breaking details. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, eun. we were talking to some residents here. we're at the corner of m street and 33rd. we are in georgetown. if you take a look behind me, the building that is right above georgetown cupcake, 1208 33rd street. residents tell us there are eight to ten units in that top building. and all of those folks had to be evacuated about 3:00 to 3:30 this morning is what they tell us. a young lady told us that she was in the shower. she heard an alarm ring, and the alarm said that there was a detection of carbon monoxide present. shortly thereafter, fire crews arrived, told everybody to evacuate. when we arrived on scene, there were more than a dozen people inside ambulances. fire crews told us they were just inside trying to stay warm. nobody has been treated from what we can tell thus far. crews have not spoken with us yesterday. what we saw a few minutes ago were fire crews scaling this building on top of 1208 33rd street, as well as inside georgetown c

news 4's erica gonzalez is at the stadium armory metro station with more on his latest incident. erica? >> reporter: good morning, chris. today is day two of inspections for metro. they'll go on throughout the weekend and the early part of next week. metro has to figure out what keeps causing the wheels of their lines to keep falling off. today we're at the stadium armory station. it was near this spot yesterday afternoon that an orange line train one bound for new carolton lost a brake part and became disabled with passengers on board. riders were transferred to other trains at stadium armory and normal service was restored by 2:30. there were no injuries. metro says the malfunction was because rain car number 2072 lost a friction ring similar, but not nearly as dramatic as the incident just a few weeks ago when another friction ring fell off a blue line train and hit an electrified rail. customers tell us they expect metro to fix this sooner than later. >> i think the service could be better. i think the safety record stands for itself. pieces falling off of trains and trains cr
