erik: how does that get fixed? a matter of turning on the physical and monitor -- the fiscal and monetary? ken: from a classic economic perspective that you would keep some level of government support in place to help us get back to full employment. so your monetary approach is the general way to doing that, the ultra low interest rates in america and very aggressive asset purchase programs being run by the fed. the problem is that in washington, the fiscal policies are disincentivizing. we are undermining all the work at the fed by creating so many incentives to not work. that's what we need to change. we need to align the fiscal policies with go back to work and here is why with the monetary policies that are effective at encouraging capital formation and growth. erik: just so i am clear and there are people would like to know, monetary policy that the fed has pursued and is pursuing, you are fine with. you are aware there are people who think they should've taper asset purchases long ago in the next meeting is f

erik: do you own any? lloyd: -- any crypto? lloyd: no.lloyd blankfein speaking exclusively on bloomberg's front row. staying on bitcoin, paul tutor says he is using crypto as a hedge against inflation. in an interview on cnbc, he says there is a place for digital assets in his portfolio and that it is clearly winning the race against gold at the moment. inflation fears have clobbered short and intermediate term treasury notes and flattened the yield curve. bank of america saying that could spell trouble for u.s. corporate bonds. they note that this will give less compensation for buying longer-term bonds like high-grade company debt and it will increase hedging costs for foreign investors and hurt demand, haidi. haidi: let's take a look at some of the stocks we are watching when it comes to the start of trading and sydney. top of mind ahead of that report due from the former justice. that follows eight weeks of those hearings. we did see of course the comments ahead of the annual general meeting set to start shortly, saying it was down 9%

lloyd blankfein spoke with bloomberg's erik schatzker on the challenge of raising interest rates. ♪ >me things that are inevitable that have been of some concern is how we manage interest rates, going back to what i will call normal, but normal history. if everybody owns paper that has been issued at 0.5%, 1%, 2%, and interest rates go to 5%, not an unreasonable place over history, what happens to the market on everyone's portfolio? as a result of low interest rates, people are then taking extra credit risk. maybe sovereign risk. extra credit risk in order to get higher yield. that will break people's hearts because things are stable, but the market gets disrupted, it tends to be the weaker credits that separate from the weaker. there's a number of things that can go wrong when the money starts to get allocated by assigning a cost to money that is more inconsistent with history, and that is a long way from where we are now in the market. >> are we about to have an inflation problem? >> there's a lot of remedies in the world, painful as they are, for inflation. it is very hard to get r

erik: yeah, so this is a major, major step forward. that said, when you talk about front running or the price of bitcoin, these etf's track futures, which will limit the audience. we think they will attract traders because the daily correlation will be the highest thing out there, but that correlation will break down a little bit over the long-term because they have to roll futures. a lot of advisors will not touch anything that rules futures. they learned the hard way not to mess with that market. we do think it will a big hit with traders, seeing up to 5 billion in the first 12 month, less than 1% of bitcoin's market cap. i think a lot of the euphoria and buying of bitcoin ahead of this has already been front run to a degree, and it is because the sec has finally come after seven years, started the process of opening up crypto to anyone and everyone because etf's are available so widely. alix: thanks for that perspective. we will break it down more later in the hour. also moving markets in the background here, we have data overnight
