i'm erik schatzker with scarlet fu.you build a business on a hot new product and commissioned a study to see how consumers felt about it, only to find they cannot stand it. that is what happened to a company whose bread-and-butter is native advertising. what do they do now? here to tell as is the cofounder. michael sebastian covers brand advertising. ne, what is it that people don't like about native advertising? >> it is confusing. our business is still doing well and we commissioned the study because we want people to do this stuff right. it does no good if an industry thinks that people love what they are doing if two thirds of them don't know what it is, much less care for it. this devil you know versus w don't. people are concerned that they don't know what sponsored content is. that's the problem, they feel deceived? >> two thirds of people say they felt tricked by a post or video that was sponsored by brand after finding out about it. >> is the solution to have a high-quality advertisement that is clearly marked

i'm erik schatzker in new york city. plenty of criticism for the way it has handled the tens of millions of recalls, much of it well-deserved. what about the dealers? how your friendly neighborhood dealership is taking on those 29 million recalled gm cars and trucks. what is it like to be a gm dealer right now? >> you would think they would be drowning, but that's not a picture that was painted from a in my conversations with different chevrolet dealers across the country. they moaned and groaned every time gm announces a new recall, which they get little to no warning about. they find out about the same time we do. for the most part, the day-to-day operations have not changed all that much. dealers are being inundated with phone calls and questions. the ones they spoke to say their service center has only seen a moderate increase in daily repairs compared to before february when the ignition switch recalled the first and most important of all these recalls was first announced. looking at just ignition switch recall numb

herewith a breakdown, erik schatzker. what stood out for you? >> more of the same from brian moynihan. the man has been trying to put bofa i try to get beyond its legacy. not happening, four billion dollars a litigation expense, almost all of the four legacy mortgage related issues. to 2.3ought profit down billion dollars for the quarter by 43%. 650 million cost for a settlement with aig. let's look past mortgages and figure out how bofa is doing on its own relative to wall street. the report card there is not so great, either. helps understand why shares are down. look at loan growth, for example. . -0.5%,loan growth was contrast with positive loan growth for other wall street banks, including citigroup with 4.4% year-over-year. training resident, -- trading fared a little better, not as bad as citigroup and as well as jpmorgan are golden. on cost management, this has been a big issue for brian monahan. bank the least efficient and spends most relative to revenue. noninterest expenses down to $ 13.1 billion. 9%, moreits staff by than 22,000 job

i want to bring in erik schatzker in new york who has been looking at this all day.ou have been looking at this all day long, what do you think is the rationale behind this deal? >> i have spent quite a lot of time talking with people who are deeply involved in the bidding process for time warner cable people. who have direct knowledge of what has been discussed and why. question, it is not vanity, or i have been persuaded that it is not vanity. it is about taking advantage of synergy. this is between a foxx and a time warner. they have identified at least a billion and a half dollars of cost overlap that can be eliminated right away and helped to justify the 20% premium that foxx has put on the table. build a muchto more powerful brand internationally. easyhad not had it that expanding the carriage in europe. rupert murdoch believes that the competition of time warner and givewould make -- would them the programming, the platform to have much more negotiating leverage in europe and to expand the company's reach. they don't believe that they can run hbo better than a
