standby for that. >>> thanks, erika. right now one of freddie gray's friends is testifying in the trial of baltimore police officer edward nero. he was there when gray was taken into police custody and put in transport wagon where he later died. officer nero a facing assault charges in this case. we're live in baltimore with the latest. chris. >> reporter: brandon ross says he grew up with freddie gray and was with him that sunday morning april 12th of 2015. he is on the stand in the courthouse behind me right now testifying as a prosecution witness in the trial of officer edward nero. ross identifies nero as one of the yellow-shirted baltimore bike police officers who put freddie gray on the ground after they chase running. and they handcuffed him, putting him into a van. he was later taken out of the van. he was put in plastic restraints and leg shackles. and, again, ross identifies officer nero as one of those who threw freddie gray head-first on to the floor of the van. ross says he ran to nearby gillmore homes to fi

erika gonzalez is joining us with new information. erika?reporter: eun, we are in district heights in prince less than five minutes ago we learned this is the scene of a targeted attack with multiple victims. prince george's county police on the scene now right behind me is the intersection of aztec drive and gateway boulevard. so if you push a little further in, that is the actual location of the investigation. at this point, it is a homicide investigation. so that is in the 6500 block of halleck avenue, i believe. what we can tell you at this point is that there is, in fact, one person dead. we understand that is the result of a gunshot wound if not multiple gunshot wounds. as for the other victim, police tell us there were multiple victims in a targeted attack. we are not sure what the extent of their injuries are. all we know is they have confirmed to us there is one person dead. that it was some type of a shooting. and there are multiple victims in what they are calling a targeted attack. we are live in district height back to you. >>>

fairfax county police identify her as erika dunn of springfield. she was struck by a train last night just past 9:30 in the 9500 block of berk road in berk. she was with two friends when she was struck. >> their investigation determined that there were three friends walking near the tracks, a train approached. two of the friends moved away from the tracks. when they went back to find their other friend they found her injured. >> reporter: now, police say the two other friends stayed with the victim's side to provide some aid and also called police but erika dunn later died at the hospital. now, this isn't uncommon for folks to try to walk along the tracks. our i-team in fact found about 29 train accidents involving trespassers over the last two years in virginia. now, this investigation is ongoing. the medical examiner still has to declare a cause and manner of death here. no details yet on the type of train involved in this accident. the operator of that train still has to be interviewed. the victim's next of kin though has been notified. that is
