i'm erika gonzales. people inside maryland live rushed out of the casino after seeing the police news4 darcy spenzer joins us live. a lot of moving parts. explain exactly how this went down. darcy? >> reporter: well, erika, we are still working to shore up details of this story. here's what we have been able to piece together. apparently there was a carjacking here in the district. and at some point, a police agency began to follow a vehicle matching the description of an suv involved in that incident. but it turns out that that was not the correct vehicle. they didn't know that at the time. the driver when they tried to pull that driver over, decided to flee from police, and the vehicle took off and ended up at maryland live casino in anne arundel county. apparently, that driver parked in the parking garage of the casino and walked inside, where there were a lot of people there last night. many people, like you say, decided to evacuate, get out of there because the police presence. police questioned the

let's get right to erika martin with more on the heavy weather that's heading our way. >> we have this front moving through delmarva, and we're starting to see an increase in the wind gusts. i'm starting your wind gusts hour by hour starting at 6:00 p.m. and going through 8:00 p.m. there's a difference between your sustained wind gusts over a long period of time and sustained winds, that little bit of push in the wind that you feel walking or driving. we're seeing all right an increase in those wind gusts, 13 for trenton, 34 for pottstown, philadelphia 31 for you, and wilmington 34-mile-per-hour wind gusts, so the national weather service has issued a high wind warning starting at midnight until 6:00 p.m. on monday, the entire day effectively. 41-mile-per-hour wind speeds for philadelphia, at midnight 37 for trenton, mt. holly also seeing really strong wind gusts, so the story for today will be the increase in those wind speeds and wind gusts. i'll be timing those out for you and the 10-day on ten. >>> four people are in the hospital in north philadelphia after police say they were suf

first alert meteorologist erika martinez here this morning with our forecast. >> good morning. a great start to the day in the sense we have a high pressure system developing. we have those winds. don't worry they're going to start to diminish today into tomorrow. we still see some clouds out there. everything will start to improve again as a high pressure system starts to develop. we're tracking a really nice stretch of weather for the next couple of days. otherwise satellite and radar image low cally here we're gettg some light returns. mt. pocono reporting some light flurries right now. the story is wind speeds and wind gusts right now. notice wind speeds for philadelphia 23 miles per hour along with coatesville, dover air force base at 21. allentown, 22. toms river, 26 mile-per-hour wind speeds. what does that mean? current temperatures are mainly in the 30s. we have trenton at 37 along with philadelphia. allentown at 34. wilmington at 38 degrees. of course when you put those ingredients together, the winds and those temperatures, it feels like it is 22 degrees in allentown

nbc10 meteorologist erika martin joins us now with the latest on today's storms. >> here's the deal.y were fast and they were furious, all due to the fact that we had very warm air in place. we were behind a warm sector. temperatures for today topped out pretty much in the 70s across this entire delaware valley. so of course any time we see the battle of the air masses somebody's got to win usually that cold front. so this is why we are seeing those thunderstorms. we now have a severe thunderstorm watch still in effect until 8:00 p.m. for camden, delaware, montgomery county and philadelphia counties. here you see the line of thunderstorms moving from west to east very quickly. you can see the clearing behind that as that frontal boundary moves from west to east. due to the onshore flow, the south early winds it will deteriorate any of these storms moving towards the jersey shore so that some good news there but i would like to show you something exclusively here that we will show you with your most accurate forecast. the damage that we've already been seeing. some hail, some downed t
