erin moriarty of "48 hours" is joining us. she's been following the case. erin? >>. >> reporter:, hey scott no bail was not a surprise. in today's hearing, prosecutors claimed that durst is a serious flight risk and revealed new information that painted a picture of man they say was getting ready to go on the run. clad in an orange jumpsuit, durst sat with his defense team today. his hands shackled to his waist with padded cuffs. prosecutors claimed before his capture durst had become quite adept at evading authorities. they said he had been using several aliases and had cut become on his cell phone usage to avoid detection. but durst wasn't careful enough. prosecutors said the f.b.i. located where he was staying when he used a hotel phone to check his voice mail. prosecutors also claimed they intercepted a package containing $117,000 in cash. durst shipped the money to himself at the hotel. that's in addition to the $44,000 seized from his room the day of his arrest. durst's attorney. >> i didn't have any hope at all that the judge was going to set a bail bond,

our erin mclaughlin is there live. erin, what more do we know about exactly what happened on that plane? >> reporter: hi, george. well, shocking developments in the investigation. yesterday the prosecutor in marseille gave a press conference in which he revealed that based on analysis of the cockpit flight recorder investigators now believe that 27-year-old andreas lubitz, the co-pilot, deliberately locked the captain out of the cockpit and deliberately crashed flight 9525. let me just go through a timeline of the events as we know them. at 10:01 a.m. on tuesday the plane is believed to have taken off from barcelona en route to dusseldorf, germany. at 10:27, that is when they believe the plane reached a cruising altitude of some 38,000 feet. at that point it is thought that the captain got up to go to the bathroom leaving lubitz in control of the plane. the captain was somehow locked out of the cockpit on the cockpit flight recorder. you can hear the captain trying to smash down the door. you can hear the desperate scr

we have erin mclaughlin with the very latest. good morning, erin. >> reporter: hi christine. a short while ago, we saw the first choppers of the day leave the staging area you see behind me from the crash site. they are still looking for the flight data recorder which could give them more information about how the plane was flying. they are also looking for human remains. those remains have to be air lifted out of the site. experts say dna analysis could take weeks and the bodies will not be returned to the families until that dna analysis is complete. a heartbreaking wait for the families ahead. they were here in the area yesterday. they attended a memorial service in a village near the crash site. they were overlooking the mountain behind which the wreckage lies. they attended another prayer service last night. many of the families thought to have gone home in the evening all waking up this evening to the grim reality of the recovery effort continues. >> erin such a sad grim task ahead of them. we wish them the best and no more injuries or loss of life as they find the piec
