let's go "outfront." >>> i'm erin burnett. outfront tonight, stocks plunge. thanks, europe. market dropped 160 points today. now, it's down 6% in the month of may. that's the biggest monthly loss in nearly a year. in case you were thinking that europe's crisis was their problem and your eyes glaze over when you hear about it, this is the wake-up call. america's 401(k)s are losing value thanks to greece and spain. why? well, because if and when greece drops the euro, it's a little domino with a lot of punch. next comes spain, portugal, ireland, maybe even italy. they could all fail. and that means the breakup of the world's biggest economy and america's biggest trading partner. it means at least tens of thousands of american jobs will be lost. this is the scene in greece now. destitution and riots. suicide has surged. just today a 61-year-old man left a suicide note. his name was alexanderos. he hung himself in a park in suburban athens. he said, quote, greece will be wiped off the map and he hoped his grandchildren wouldn't be born there. the personal toll is tragic and it's

erin burnett out front at the top of the hour.ith the former ceo of aol, a lot to say about facebook's big and not momentous week. >> that's certainly true as the guy that has been there and done that and today facebook fell 11% on its second day as a public company and just to give you a sense of what that means, that's about $40 billion in market cap from the minimum at this time opened until the minute it closed today. pretty number. these numbers are all big. we'll talk to steve case about that an also an effort he has to deal with the fact that we have about 16%, 17% of people in this country that are over 25 who are basically not born in this country. but about one-third of the degrees in science, technology, engineering go to people who aren't born in this country, and then they go home with all of that knowledge. we're going to talk about that and also get mr. case's view on the bain issue. >> see new a few minutes, erin. >>> the university of notre dame suing the obama administration. the school explains why it is turning

erin burnett is on capitol hill. do you think we'll see more resignatio resignations?hink we will see more. there is a trader called bruno, the guy dubbed the london whale, whale because his trades were so big that when he got in the market he displaced everybody else. he is still working at j.p. morgan. there is a question whether there willing more people. ina drew was a very under the radar executive, an incredibly highly paid executive. when you talk about retiring, the question is whether j.p. morgan will have claw backs. some were making $15 plus million a year. how much money they will keep is a big question as we move forward. this was a very big blunder. there will be investigations here in washington. the president weighed in on this tonight and this bank for better or for worse has been on a pedestal as a bank that did things right and now they have shown that they can make huge, huge mistakes. this big question is about what this will mean for regulation. >> and then that's why people where you are on capitol hill and every day folks when you talk to them s
