i'm erin kiernan. i'm dan winters. for months, city leaders have been meeting to address the lack of surveillance cameras, lighting, and police officers. and today, they announced a plan. channel 13's jodi whitworth joins us live with an overview. since novembers homicide -- police have responded to more than a dozen assults in the area... so this effort is a major overhaul for the court ave district... and city leaders, police and bar owners say their three pronged approach to safety will cut back om crime the program will include 6 additional law enforcement officers for 52 weekends per year in the court avenue district with the addition of holidays and special events they will be avaialbe to be on patrol during those times what this approach includes is officers... as well as a state of the art camera system. electronic engineering donated 9 high definition cameras that will be placed in alley ways, parking lots and along the street. all of this will cost about 220 - thousand dollars. several different city entities

'the overriding responsibility of the department is to assure that those three mcos create a network that is assessable and quality for our members.' iowa's medicaid program serves 560-thousand iowans. it was supposed to be managed by private companies, beginning at the start of the year... but the feds stepped in and delayed that switch saying the systems weren't ready at that point... today medicaid director mikki items the centers for medicare and medicaid services or c-d-c identified as necessary, in or order to be able to switch.
